Abigail Rose Suite

Die cut package and ribbon for the Abigail Rose Suite greeting cards

The Abigail Rose Suite collection allows me to use what I love… flowers!  I love them in my garden, I love them on cards and I can get them with the Abigail Rose Suite.  The more vibrant and fragrant, the better.  When the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog came out, the moment I saw the Abigail Rose Suite, I had to have it!  First, what is a suite?  Stampin’ Up! sells its items individually, but they also sell suites (aka collections) that bundle multiple items that all go together that you can purchase in one package.  I am all about coordination and this takes all the guesswork out of your project.  In a Suite, you know everything goes together from the stamps to the dies to the paper to the bling and/or ribbons.

Recently, I had a bridal shower to go to and needed to make a beautiful card for the occasion.  I knew the romantic Abigail Rose was going to be perfect for this!!  Feminine and floral…perfect for a wedding or bridal shower!

First, I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Blank ink and then I colored all of the stamped images using various Stampin’ Blends Markers.  A little helpful hint for you:  If you’re coloring using Stampin’ Blends, you should use Memento Ink to stamp your image to avoid any running or blurring of the ink.  For the same reason, if you’re using Stampin’ Write Markers to color, you should use Stazon Jet Black ink to stamp.

Cut outs of designs after coloring them to be placed on a greeting card

Next, I die cut all the flowers and leaves with the Cottage Rose Dies (which comes in the suite or can be purchased separately).  I also die but some of the pretty flowers on Vellum for a light wispy look.

After all the foliage was die cut, I cut two pieces of Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper (“DSP”).  The lighter color “handwritten note” motif paper was cut slightly smaller than the darker paper.  Before I adhered the two DSP pieces together, I took a sponge dauber and dipped it in Soft Suede ink and then just rubbed it all the way around the edges of the light paper to give it an antiqued & vintage look.

I adhered a piece of the Natural Finish ribbon to the light-colored layer and then glued that piece of DSP to the dark piece of DSP and then glued both pieces to a Very Vanilla Cardstock base.  I then added some pearl bling for interest.  Finally, I glued a 2”x 6” piece of the darker DSP to the flap of an envelope and then trimmed the excess, and voila, a beautiful matching envelope!

I did not have a stamp appropriate for a bridal shower, so I printed a sentiment and then die cut a tag using a retired die set.

I hope you try this beautiful card!!
